EPIC E-News for August 25th, 2013

High Summer Heat + Wind + No Rain = Big Tree Loss.
Please Water Them.
Neighbors-
The  City has asked us to water trees, new ones and old ones... We will be experiencing wind, high heat and no rain for a while. Driving East Phillips, I see not just young trees, but seasoned oldsters  wilting and some dropping whole large limbs. This is heart breaking, but also costly. Taxpayer dollars are invested in each tree.

AND, importantly, East Phillips is far more attractive and a nicer place to live by far with an abundance of green, especially TREES. If you are a home owner or renter...and/or an apartment dweller...or duplex...take some buckets out....and continue to do so until we get out of this drought.  Talk to your neighbors...make a plan for your blocks, or even just do it yourself...See to the trees. We all can do this...make a party...whatever...But don't wait. Don't lose the trees!! When I watered recently, I was almost too late for my own peonies and daylilies...and they are tough. Love our space here and act. We will all thank you.
